You can't escape the past in Paris, and yet what's so wonderful about it is that the past and present intermingle so intangibly that it doesn't seem to burden.-Allen Ginsberg

Paris! My dream! I don't remember a time when I didn't want to speak French and move to Paris. The Louvre. Notre Dame. The Eiffel Tower. Champs Elysees. Moulin Rouge. The shopping! The lights! The food! The romance! Ah.....in other words, it's where I belong. And while i love and will always call Utah my home, I feel as if I'm stuck in a place I cannot succeed, a place that doesn't want me anymore. To thrive, I need a challenge and change! So until I can say au revoir to utah and bonjour to a fabulous dream life, here I am.

Gretchen SOMEONE is Utah still wants you!
i know this is probably not what you want to do in paris...but a girl i used to work with went there to be an au pair for a french family. it would be a good way to get there at least. i don't blame you for wanting to go there..it's a dream of mine too. maybe you could do a semester abroad or something?
hey, i am sure this will sound weird, but i was searching through Google results to see what came up for my name (which is also Gretchen) and for Paris (because I lived there two years ago). i stumbled upon your blog, and the woman who posted above about being an au pair is definitely on to something. i'm actually getting ready to move to Switzerland to do that. but if you would want to study abroad, i have a few recommendations of different schools, as that's what i did. don't give up on your Paris dream! it is the most amazing city i have ever been to. if you have ANY questions about how to get there, please feel free to e-mail me!
