I finally convinced my hard-working husband to take a day off.

Yeah. Don't ask me why anyone would need convincing to do such a thing.
So we went to King's Island, a Lagoonish type theme park
except the roller coasters are 10X more intense then Lagoon's!Just got off Diamondback, INTENSE!Charlie Brown at Planet Snoopy!

After our fun filled day at King's Island, we went home and changed then headed to
the Red's game!Beautiful stadium by the Ohio River!Hostess baseballs of course! (holy crap isn't he the cutest?!)

Saturday, me and my hubby went to see The Karate Kid.

It was pretty good. Griff says its the same story as the other Karate Kid movies but we thought both Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith did a good job. Mr. Chan is getting old! And Jaden Smith, is little Will, and a fantastic little actor. The only thing I didn't understand was why they called it The Karate Kid because he was being taught kung-fu. Oh well...
I probably wouldn't take little kids, even though it's PG. There's some swearing and some pretty intense fighting.

We paid for the movie, all in quarters! Haha Oh it made my night.

Illustrator 101 online class today from nicolesclasses.com aka A Little Sussy.
It's a 4 week course that goes through the basics of this Adobe program used for
graphic design, logo design, etc.

What an awesome movie! Based on a video game, it's kind-of Pirates of the Caribbeanish with cool slow motion effects. No swearing or sex just cool sword fighting. Jake didn't look so bad either ;) If you don't take it too seriously, you will love it.
We were scared we weren't going to get tickets because it was opening night but everyone was going to Sex & The City 2 haha

I just discovered Picnik. Can you tell?

I don't know about you, but I love finding my name in random places. In movies, in books, etc. I've found it in the movie Kate & Leopold (Gretchen the nurse.) Also in Failure to Launch (Gretchen the vet.) I read it just recently in The Help (Gretchen the half black mean girl. Nice.) And I always loved when we read Oh Say Can You See by Dr. Seuss because there is a little snippet about a Gretchen.

another is to read lots of good books. I have crazy
amounts of time on my hands so it looks like
both goals are achievable :)

Last week I read The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman.
A good read for anyone who loved, loves, or will ever love someone.
I also just finished The Help by Kathryn Stockett.
Very well written, I would definitely recommend it.

Next on the list; The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson.
I was craving a mystery.
What are you reading this summer? Any suggestions?

-Winston Churchill, 1933This Sunday, we took a trip to the Cincinnati Art Museum after church. What a wonderful place. They had an Egypt exhibit, Vegas 360, an Asia exhibit, a special Cincinnati exhibit, they even have works by Renoir, Monet, and Picasso. We sure did enjoy our time there.

Hello friends! Welcome weekend! I just wanted to take a minute to tell
you about 2 of my new favorite things!
1. Me and Griff man decided it was kind-of vital to get a GPS for our
adventure out to Ohio. And boy, was it the best purchase ever! On our
way here we got to find restaurants before we even pulled into a town. Good
ole' Karen (that's it's name) let us know the speed limit and when we would arrive
at our destination. But I love it because it gives me so much freedom is this place
I've never been. I can look up and address, type it in, and I'm on my way, confidently.
I heart Karen.
2. A friend of ours let us in on a secret of theirs that I have no problem sharing
with you. It's called ground turkey. Yum. Take any recipe you love with ground beef,
replace the beef with the ground turkey and BAM! your dish is now so much healthier
than it was with the beef. And it now includes a superfood! Really, I made sloppy joes
with it the other night and nobody noticed until I told them. Then we decided they were
better than regular sloppy joes because they weren't as greasy!

We made it! After our 2 day road trip! Friday we drove through:
Wyoming: wind. that's all there is there.
Nebraska: its all about the great big sky in NE.
We stayed the night in Lincoln in the most HORRIBLE Days Inn. Ok, the whole hotel smelled like smoke but our room was a SMOKING room because it was the last one left and it was cheap. My mouth burned so bad the next morning when I woke up like I myself had smoked a cig. Yuck.
And don't worry that after we were in bed watching a movie, someone was trying to get our door open! The hotel had given someone the key to our room! Needless to say I didn't sleep well that night haha.
Next day we went through:
The other half of Nebraska
Iowa: straight corn fields.
Indiana: FLAT
Illinois: We drove over the Mississippi river!
And arrived at our destination late Saturday night.
Our apartment is so nice and it's in a nice area. It's so green here! My skin is loving the humidity! My hair, not so much. We went to Wal-Mart the night we got here to grab some stuff, and as we were driving home, we saw a toad in the road! Griff was so excited haha.

While in California, we journeyed to Disneyland of course.

I married a man who loves that place.

Griffin has a friend who works in Downtown Disney,
So of course, she can let us in for free.
Ideal, yes.

I would like to give everyone some advice; when you go to
Disneyland, rent a locker. It's not cheap but def worth it.
See how happy I am? I didn't even have to carry
my purse which seems to gain 15 lbs throughout the day
or the sweatshirt I needed at the end of the night!
Happy day.

We enjoyed the fireworks after a long rest at the Plaza Inn.
Just so you know, they had Tinkerbell flying around the castle.
It was wonderful.
Can't wait to go when we have some little ones.

Oh what a week. My birthday was the bomb, even though I had to take a freakin midterm. Me and Griff went to lunch, I got a wonderful haircut and highligts, as you will witness from my pics, then journeyed over to my parents house for some jambalaya and cake and ice cream. Wednesday, we left early to get to California as fast as we could, stopping only for lunch, and gas only when absolutely necessary. We stayed with Griffin's Aunt Tracy and Uncle Chris, aka absolutely wonderful fantastic people. They know everything about the yummiest restaurants and cool places to go and how to get there. The weather was fantastic and I got to spend all day everyday with my honey! We love you California! We won't be gone long!

Wonderland

What a weekend. We saw Alice, in 3D no less. Visually stunning. Tim Burton is genius. I didn't think I would like the girl they chose for Alice but by the end, was totally convinced, also wanted her hair. LOVED all her outfit changes. Mostly, I loved the Bloody Red Queen. Helena Bonham Carter, also genius.
I got to enjoy some of my cousins homemade cafe rio salad at a bridal shower (better than the real stuff) and then me and Griff took a trip to Mt. Pleasant, aka the cabin, with friends. What a blast. Stay tuned for some killer sledding pics.

This is our baby bank. We put all our change in to save for our baby. There is $19.31 in there right now. Ya, it'll be a while.

We got a yellow Kitchen Aid for Christmas. So great.

I bought this for a dollar at Target. It sprouted but won't get any bigger then that. I put a Buddha next to it for good luck.

...I can grocery shop either during my lunch break or after a long day at work (which, lets face it, is not so great.)

...there's a wide variety of...interesting people to watch, all day long.

Christmas is great. Winter is fun. But one of the reasons I love this time of year is because it reminds me of when me and my husband started dating :) It's been over a year now since we first met on that blessed night in the hot tub. I know some people will say that you need to know someone for a long long time before you marry them. But I feel like I've known Griffin my whole life and beyond. Like my whole life I've been waiting for him. I love that man and I can't say it enough! We're also past our 4 month mark of marriage! Wahoo!

We did Thanksgiving with the Winters so we're going to do Christmas with the Walker family. It's sad a little bit. It'll be really strange to be somewhere else beside home, staying up late without my sisters. Not enjoying the usual, delicious breakfast by mom. Waiting for dad to tell us to come open presents. But I'm so lucky because the Walker's aren't just my in-laws. They are my second family and I love them too. That's one big huge thing I love about being married. You have not just one, but 2 families to love and be loved by! I guess what I'm trying to say is I love being a Winters and a Walker :)

Hello Blog! It's been a while. Everything has changed! We moved out of our basement apartment (hosta la vista not-so-fantastic-upstairs-neighbor!) and into a newly remodled apartment complex in Orem. We love it! I have 2 jobs right now. A seasonal job at JoAnn's fabric and craft store on University Parkway and I'm in training this week to be a teller at America First Credit Union! Our Christmas tree is up and getting Christmas shopping done! (shopping for a husband is so stressful) Woo! So much to do, so little time! Still waiting for some snow to go with this cold weather!

As a newly married woman, this book stunned me. It's about this woman Ellen, who is also a newlywed. She married Andy, who comes from a well-to-do family from the south. They're life is perfect until Ellen runs into an old love, Leo. The book is all about how she still loves Leo, and her husband, but mostly Leo. What a joke. I had such high anxiety whilst reading this book. The whole story is about how she was going behind her husband's back to see and talk to Leo. How she loves her husband but she feels like her love is deeper with Leo, even though he's a d-bag who broke up with her. How her husband, Andy, doesn't give her enough attention so she feels like she has to go to Leo. And then!....(stop reading if you don't want to know the ending) she magically decides at the end that her marriage is more important to her than her relationship with Leo, and Andy happily blames himself for the whole thing and the live happily ever after. I mean come ON Ellen! Sure, everyone has their first love. Someone from the past you think about from time to time, wondering what happened to them. But if you still are IN LOVE with them, I suggest you not get married to another guy. Just a suggestion.

So, us Walker's got kicked out of our apartment. Yeah. Here's the scoop:
Our not-so-fantastic-upstairs-neighbor, complained about our dog barking too much (which she doesn't. don't be fooled) and that either the dog goes or she will. Which is whatev, we've kind-of been waiting for the chance to move out of here anyway 1. because of our not-so-fantastic-upstairs-neighbor 2. bad location. That was the story yesterday. Today, our renter came over to tell us that his family is moving back into the house we're in right now, and our not-so-fantastic-upstairs-neighbor wants to rent their current house, by herself. We have 30 days to find a new place. This is where you come in. If you know of a apartment to rent in orem/provo area preferably under $700 /month, let me know ASAP!

Poppy Seed Chicken

4 chicken breasts cooked
1/2 onion
1Tbsp butter
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 pt. sour cream
1 tbsp poppy seeds
6 tbsp butter
1 roll Ritz crackers crushed

Saute onions in butter. Place chicken in 9x13 pan. Cover with onions. Mix soup, sour cream, and poppy seeds. Pour over chicken. Melt 6 tbsp butter and mix with crushed crackers. Cover soup mixture. Bake at 350 for 30 min. Serves 4.

I'm a married woman now! So sorry it's taken me so long to post anything. We don't have the internet at our new apartment (which is awesome, by the way, and I think we have everything moved in!) The honeymoon was awesome!!! I'll put up pics and full details soon!

The wedding day was so great! I've never been so happy, EVER! The biggest, best day of my life went by so fast! All in all, everything went very smoothly thanks to all my friends and family! I seriously haven't been able to stop thinking about how lucky I am to have to many loving, caring people in my life! Couldn't have done it without you!

I'm a bee!!! And a busy one at that! I feel like I'm going, going, going all the dang time. I'm never without something to do! I really shouldn't be on the computer right now but I have missed the blogging world so I'm filling you in...

Me and Griff found an apartment! After lots of searching, that is. A basement apartment in Cedar Hills. It's very nice with a nice backyard, a big stone fireplace, sweet bathroom, and is even equipped with a little playroom (won't be needing that anytime soon.) Also, we didn't have to pay anything extra for Griffin's dog, Bailey! I'm really excited about it.

I recieve my endowments on Aug. 25, 2 days before the wedding. My parents and Griffin are coming and I believe Griffin's parents and his Grandpa Sheril and Grandma Annie want to come too so that will be a great experience.

Invitations are out! Happy joyous day. That was a relief to get those done. Keep an eye out for one ;)

If you didn't know, we're going to CANCUN for honeymoon! I'm so excited! I've only heard good things about it. We leave Aug 29 in the morning, early, early and we'll be gone for a week.

I've had my friend and ward bridal shower. Both were dang awesome, I'm lucky to have such great people in my life. Family bridal shower is this Saturday which will be great, I'm sure.

So much to do in so little time! We've been having some fun doing other things too. We had fun up in Midway with the fam, and we've been 4-wheeling, spending time with his family, and then just working working working!

Only 18 more days!!!

Ok, goodbye Europe hello wedding plans!!! This week has been a struggle to find the right place for a reception that doesn't cost $2,000 and isn't already booked. But we found it! It's the amphitheater just west of the Mt. Timpanogoes temple. It's very pretty and not so expensive. We had to change the wedding date though. Just a couple of days earlier! August 27 is a Thursday. We're going to get married in Salt Lake Temple and either a luncheon after but I think it will end up being a dinner the night before, that his parents are hosting. I'm getting so excited and anxious! Only 78 until I'm Mrs. Griffin Walker!

Ok, you can't really see my ring so well but, here it is! Griffin surprised me last night!!!
We got all dressed up and he took me to The Roof. We seriously sat there and talked for almost 2 hours and watched the sun set behind the temple. And then we walked around the temple grounds, both so excited and smiley because we knew that was where we are going to get married :) (we have a date and everything I just didn't have the ring which is why he worked hard to surprise me last night) Ok so past the temple and I think past the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, there is this BEAUTIFUL garden and we walked over there to look at the flowers. We were standing there, hugging of course, and he pulled the ring out that was hiding in his pocket the whole time!!! He got down on one knee and said, "Will you marry me?" and I said.....YES! haha And then we went on a carriage ride around scenic Salt Lake...under construction haha. It was fun though and very memorable.
Holy cow I'm so EXCITED to be married to Griffin!!! He is my best friend. He knows me inside and out and I wouldn't be happier marrying anyone else.

The other night, me, Griffin, my best friend Amy, and Griffin's best friend Zach (who are together. Exciting right?) rented Slumdog Millionaire. And instead of watching it in the living room on the boring old T.V. (....oh wait....there is no T.V. ! Haha) we set up our mattresses in our room and made a FORT and watched the movie on Amy's laptop. OMG a fort!!!!! I haven't made a fort forEVER! I'm still excited about it. Oh man.

car TROUBLE

Once upon a time, there was a little red car. It had had it's good times but for a while now, a girl named Gretchen, who drives the car, had been having a hard time with it. For this little red car was not the beauty it used to be and seemed to always have a problem. Fix after fix, bump after scratch. Now this little red car's transmission died out and on the day of April 10, it was taken in to the shop. Gretchen was without her little red car and had to be shuttled by all the great people in her life. After exactly a week, the little red car got to leave the shop! But at a very high price. The very day the little red car came out of the transmission shop, a freak snow storm hit. The little red car slipped this way and that and got hit by another car. Poor little red car. The frame was bent among other things so it had to be taken to the shop, yet again! Finally, and after a (kind-of) good run, the little red car was totaled. After many hours of weeping, Gretchen ('s parents) got a check and went out and bought a new car. The end.

Ok so I bought this scrapbook paper kit at Dear Lizzie the other day filled with music sheets and pages ripped from old books and other paper. I wanted to have something to keep my hands busy during conference so I wouldn't fall asleep haha. I decided to make some stationary.

I ran out of paper from my kit so I started to use pictures and things I found that I had lying around. Some are from a map of Switzerland. Some are from a pamphlet from a cathedral that I went to in Switzerland. Some are just pictures I had. I used some of the old book pages and sheet music to put on the flap of the envelopes. I put glitter on some to spice it up. Holy cow I'm so excited! They turned out so cute!!!

One of my New Year's resolutions was to keep a journal. Surprise! This is a resolution I've actually been able to keep! It's the cutest little thing and I like to put notes, pictures, and other such memorabilia in there. I'm working hard on, not just writing about what I did but how I felt while doing it. Not just because I'm going to go back and read this little book when I'm older, but hopefully my children and my children's children will find it an interesting read too. I think about when I come across my mom's old things, yearbooks, pictures and other such things, and I want my kids to be as excited about learning about my past as I am about learning about my mom's past.
Life goes by so fast! I just want mine to be one that's remembered.

Hope everyone had a good valentines!!! I sure did! My great boyfriend got me a picture frame with some great pictures of us, flowers , and a GREAT card. We went to lunch at Flour Girls and Dough Boys (my favorite and where we had our first kiss :) ). We took a trip to my house and watched chick flicks with Erin for a little bit and then went ice skating. We didn't fall once until our last time around when some girl totally knocked both of us over. Then we went to Ottavio's and waited an hour for our reservation. Worth the wait though.
This was my first Valentines with a boyfriend and it was fantastic. It totally sucks being single on Feb. 14th.
I had a lot of fun but I now understand why my parents don't go out on Valentines haha Soo many people!

So...I thought I would tell you a little about my boyfriend. Haha ok, brag about him is more like it because he's such a great guy and I like him a lot.
It all started in the hot tub. I was there with my friends and he and his friends were "hot tub hopping" and we just started talking. He and his friends got up to leave and he said he was too scared to ask for my number so he told us his number. I couldn't get it out of my head and so I texted him. We dated for a little bit and then became "official" on Christmas eve.
He lives in Springville with his parents. He got back from his mission, Long Beach, California (Cambodian speaking), 7 months ago and is working and going to school right now. For what, he doesn't know yet. Either, physical therapy, like his dad, or communications. He played football all throughout high school and is a stud. He's the 4th out of 5 kids with 2 older brothers and an older sister with 1 younger brother. His mom is in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. He's had his share of hard times but made it through and I think thats great.
He's so good for me because he gives me space. We don't have to hang out or talk every second of every day, which I would almost like to, but we have our own things to do. He's respectful and likes me for me and where I've been. Which sound like simple things, but none of the guys I've ever dated have been as great as him.
Anyways, I just wanted you to know how much I like him and what a good guy he is. :)

Oh my goodness, I still can't get used to the fact it's a new year now. I think I'm still disappointed with the things/lack of things that happened in 2008 but with a new year, anything can happen.
Last year I was still up at college! I turned 19. My family took me on a cruise with them! Lynch's had a new baby. I finally got to come home from college (which was probably the best part of the the year.) I started babysitting again. Made new friends. I voted for the first time ever. I moved out! Went to Hawaii. Dated multiple guys and ended up with a boyfriend by the end of the year. Got my first New Year's kiss :) And eveything in between.
This new year, I'm turning 20! (Ew.) Erin will go on a mission. One of my good friends, Blake, will come home from his mission. But that's it! That's all I'm planning on! Which kind-of scares me but leaves so many possibilities!
My new year's resolutions include, finding another job, taking that trip to Paris, and keeping a journal. Wish me luck! And have a good 2009!

I have not been the best blogger, as my mom continuely points out. Most of the time, I've been without inspirtation for a new post BUT as I perused through my favorite store, I said to myself, if this store isn't inspiration, I don't know what is. That's right folks. DEAR LIZZIE!!! Oh my goodness the girliest, chicest, sparkliest, vintagey..est store you'll ever see. I probably set aside time at least once a week to at least take a visit. Sometimes I don't even buy anything but somehow I'll lose 30 min...1 hour...1 hour 30 min out of my day just looking at the prettiest things ever. If I were a store, Dear Lizzie would be me.

Can I tell you something? I HATE the stupid T.V.! That stupid box full of false reality. Full of wasted time. It's the first thing I hear in the morning, upstairs blasting the morning news. I go to babysit and the T.V. is on. I come home and someone is watching some worthless show. And it seems to be the last sounds of the day, coming through the floor, the walls. Sometimes it's nice because we can watch things like conference, and the hills...just kidding! Yes! I am a hypocrite and surrender my time to this stupid thing that gives me nothing back. But it's when conference is done, and we heard such great things and then 10 seconds later it's on again with some stupid crap show and then on for the rest of the night. It gets turned on when we're away from home on a vacation. Even when we were on a fantastic cruise the T.V. got turned on!!! It makes me sick. I also need to work on it, but I wish we could get up and DO the things we see on T.V. (ok, not all because a lot of it is gross, yet another reason why T.V. freakin sucks!) I wonder how much stuff could get done and achieved if the stupid T.V. was gone. The better relationships we might have. The things we might learn. Just a thought.

She knows when I'm bugged and I know when she's bugged. We love lots of the same things and totally disagree on lots of other things. She is a goofball and makes me laugh. She's such a strong person. She's so dang creative it's crazy. She's very caring and thoughtful. She's beautiful and I love her.

I was driving around the other day, and heard the song "Tattoo" by Jordin Sparks. I almost changed it (so overplayed) until I started listening to the words.

"I will never regret you
Still the memory of you
Marks everything I do"

I started to think about all the people who have come in and out of my life...ok mainly the boys. Boys I've dated, boys I've had crushes on, boys who've had crushes on me, etc. All of them, in some form or other, have changed the way I am, the way I think, the way I think of myself, the way I act, and the way I treat others. Some have been good for me and some have been bad.

I would like to tell you that with every boy, I was did what was appropriate, forgot those who weren't good for me, and gave more attention to the boys who were nicer, but that's not what happened.

But I've realized that, good or bad, I can learn something from everyone. And that no matter what, I could never forget anyone I once spent time and had feelings for.
